Over the past monthish, I have been working on making the email server more robust and secure, and less likely to trigger spam filters. Peter Bryant at Rimu Hosting and 25Mail.st has provided heavily discounted services to us. Today, I got stuck into configuring DKIM, SPF, and DMARC for the outgoing mail server. These things check for allowed server for sending, confirmation signing of messages, etc.
Everything has been tested and is working as expected. Fingers crossed that this sorts some of the issues with people not receiving messages from us or messages being marked as spam.

There was a malformed entry in the the dns server for the spf record. This was identified and corrected.

The technology underpinning this site is built by una.io. It is a framework for community sites. Because of that, it needs to be customised. In our case there are things included that we do not need, categories that do not make sense, and potential cultural issues. Please report any of these to us so we can fix them.
