"Fear of Being Exploited is Stagnating Our Progress in Science" - Blog Post with link to article.
Also: Exploitation itself is stagnating our progress in science. There are many examples, but one in particular sticks out to me. That is: responding to a request for input and a C.V. for a grant application, having that application stacked with C.V.s to make it appear to have a robust team behind it, then, when the grant is funded, having some of the people on the team completely discarded (and perhaps not even telling them). For some fields, this has been the S.O.P. in Aotearoa. Those who are discarded have put in effort, and get absolutely nothing in return.
