Events Section Added
Last week we added an events section. The idea is to make it easier for people to find out about things that they would be interested in attending (in person or online). At the moment we are populating it with things we find out about from various sources.
It is open for anyone to add an event. If you or an organisation your are part of is hosting an event or know about something that is interesting to you, please do add it to our events section. You can do that by clicking on the + in the upper right and then on EVENT.

In the time since we have added the event section and are populating it with things that come across our desk, there has been an uptick in google searches that hit the event posts. From my perspective, this says at least these two things: our site is being indexed by search engines pretty well (maybe better than the pages we link to), and there is some value in posting events (including bringing people to our site.
As always, we are limited to add events that we are aware of. If you see something interesting that is not already in the events section, please add it so that others have the chance to attend if they wish.
On a related note, there is an issue with the calendar view and long events titles spilling over into other days squares. That has been fixed by the developers and should be sorted in the next point release.
