I'm Mandy and I co-run Dark Times Academy with Byron Clark. We're looking for folks who like teaching and want to do a class with us.
We offer community education courses using a model I developed when I ran an NGO. Our classes are fun, attract super engaged students, and usually have a social justice project or element attached to them (but not always!) We offer funded classes when we have a funder and for other classes we sell to the general public, though we aren't super great at being capitalists, so all our classes have at least some $10 seats. About half our students are outside NZ.
Our first cohort of classes is on now, so we are looking for instructors for our second go round! Grad students very welcome to teach. We're looking for classes that are niche, maybe too weird for a university, and are on topics that the instructors are passionate about.
We pay people via revenue sharing, so no one is getting rich, but if the course sells out you can make a good little bundle. We also don't want anyone's IP, so you would of course own all your own material. If you think this sounds like something you might be keen to do, you can check out instructor guidebook.
